Pimp Diamond cane: -used to ward off any unwanted attention and/or predators prowling the streets. This cane is no ordinary stick; when the diamond top is screwed off it is swiftly transformed into a sturdy metal rod. While it is worthless for long-term combat, it provides Dia with a quick getaway if such becomes necessary. Occasionally used for performances. (She also likes using it to point at things – it makes her feel classy.)

P e r s o n a l i t y:

[ + ] Benign – Adores little children and seeing genuine smiles on people’s faces. Will often step over herself to bring happiness to others, even if she barely knows them.
[ - ] Deceitful/Self Conscious – Hides behind the mask of a perfect person; and is always well groomed to the public eye. Loretta would never let herself blunder during a performance, and thus spends most of her free time perfecting her tricks.
[ - ] Lonesome – Detests solitude, and will go out of her way to escape it. Despite being quite nonchalant on the outside it is very easy for Dia to get lonely. During the time period between living with Vincent and Cade, she drowned out the feeling with alcohol.
[ - ] Cheap – Refuses to pay good money for anything besides her performing clothes and alcohol.
[ + ] Witty - Besides being an excellent liar, Dia is also quite clever. She has no difficulty sweet-talking others to get the things she wants, and is one to determine the weakness of others quite quickly.

H i s t o r y:

Dia was born into a middle class family in the Diamond Faction, consisting of her mother, father and herself. Despite being an only child she was never spoiled by her parents, and because of her humble nature she seldom felt the need to ask for more than she received. Her father worked for a Bed & Breakfast as a finance instructor, while her mother’s occupation was a lot meeker – a delivery woman for a local bakery. Because of the income difference, Dia’s father often looked down on her mom and teased her for her inability to find a better paid job.

The teasing escalated from small squabbles to downright brawls before Dia hit her teenage years. Fights would break out because of the smallest reasons – a wrinkled shirt, an odd placement of shoes. To hide her misery from her parents, Dia learned to mask her true emotions and became expert in the art of lying. By the time she turned 16, her parents’ conversations consisted more of rambling insults than sensible dialogue. There is a certain amount of discord a child can take, and this was enough for Dia. She stopped coming home.

Life on the streets was not easy, and it did not take long for the gal figure this out. To survive, she was constantly forced to steal groceries from a nearby market. Her endeavors usually ended in a “cat and mouse” chase; and although this sounds quite comical, it was far from this for the thief – as the pursuit, more often than not consisted of an enraged and sometimes armed shop keeper. After a while, Dia became confident enough to nick from drunken men at bars, and was quite successful before she naively tried to pickpocket an illusionist/trickster named Vincent Moore. Whilst caught in the act of thievery, she made multiple futile attempts to flee. Oddly enough, whether it be out of pity or intoxication, instead of reporting the girl, the man offered to buy her dinner. The promise of free food and the kindness of the chap compelled Lora to later obsessively follow the man everywhere he went. She lurked in bars he drunk in, slept next to his travelling wagon, and attended the shows he put on it the streets.

Vincent’s performances were something that she enjoyed the most while trailing him – she loved the joyous revelation on peoples’ faces (especially children) that he’d tricked; everyone seemed to be laughing, clapping. Just then, she decided that she wished to have the same impact on people, and begged Vincent to take her on as his assistant. It’s likely that he would’ve declined, had she not applied her stalker antics on the man. His next words changed her sorry street life.

Whilst working for Vincent Moore, Dia grew quite adapted and fond of the man. She enjoyed the traveler’s life, and became accustomed to Vincent’s constant drinking habit. As far as she could tell, he seemed to enjoy her company as much as she did.

- She enjoys vodka the most because it wipes away all of her sorrows
- Accessorizes all of her costumes with diamonds. Especially likes cutting out diamonds out of her corsets/shirts.
